Ferrari president Luca di Montezemelo revealed Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso both remain in contention to partner Felipe Massa in 2010.Brazilian Massa is set to return from a head injury in time for the new season, with Raikkonen expected to make way for double-world champion Alonso, who is currently at beleaguered Renault. But Di Montezemelo said a final call would be made "within a few weeks".
First race frustration
The first race of the day proved a tough one for the team and myself as we finished 10th.We were still hamstrung by the ballast and it was difficult to make moves on people on the straight. But it was a great race by my team-mate Stephen Jelley who took his first race win and he followed that up with another win in race three, and his results have helped my title bid.
Second race improvement
With the weight off the car after finishing in the pack in race one, race two was much better.I got a great start and the car felt much more like I have been accustomed to. It was also good that Fabrizio Giovanardi only picked up a few more points than us as we came fourth. That display left me feeling a lot more confident ahead of what proved to be a thrilling race three.
Race three makes difference
The third race of the day was one of the most exciting I have been involved in since I joined the series. At one point I thought I could win but after my coming together with Jason Plato I was glad to finish fourth as Jason and Fabrizio dropped back.I had some good fortune when Jason hit me but also managed to put me straight again, that's the luck you need when you are going for a championship.
Field tightly packed
The amazing thing about this season has been how close all the cars have been.Chevrolet, Vauxhall and BMW have all taken turns to set the pace at various circuits but they are all incredibly evenly matched. I felt like I was chasing a Vauxhall all day on Sunday. That competitiveness has helped us as even when we have had tough weekends, Fabrizio has not been able to take full advantage in such a close field.
Looking ahead to Brands
I have not really had a chance to think about the title decider at Brands as I am still trying to digest what happened on the weekend! For now I will just try and keep myself relaxed and not get too worked up about it and try and treat it as just another weekend where we have a job to do.Brands has tended to be a good track for us and we looked strong when we raced there earlier this season.
