Alonso: Ferrari F10 is the Best Yet

“This is the best car I’ve ever had” said the 28-year-old driver, who won the world championship with Renault in 2005 and 2006 "Red Bull, McLaren and Renault have been very quick and have shown their cards, while we are still hiding ours." said Alonso. Current world champion Jenson Button was quickest in Practice in Jerez, but Alonso was faster in Valencia.

Red Bull was also quick in testing, but Alonso believes Ferrari is the team to beat "We will analyse the data, but we are very optimistic," he said.
"If I were in a different team I would be looking at Ferrari because everything is going really well.
"Maybe where Ferrari has to improve is the short runs with little fuel onboard."
The final test takes place at Barcelona next week before the season-opening race in Bahrain on 14 March.

Testing has been a great show of team’s performance this year, and at the moment shows that McLaren are the team to beat with Jenson Button faster than ex world champion team mate Lewis Hamilton, Red bull are close behind. Last years constructors champions Brawn GP, now Mercedes GP are showing good pace but so far are not at the front, although Team principle Ross Brawn said the team are showing good development and hope to be at the front when the season stats in Bahrain. Ferrari are looking average but with the words of Fernando Alonso Ferrari fans will be hoping they do have more in the locker. New team Lotus are showing better than expected pace despite wrecking one of their cars in practice. Nico Rosberg is one to watch as he was last year, I would not be surprised If the young German won his first race this year.

Odds on Fernando Alonso to win the world championship are currently 7/4 with Lewis Hamilton 2nd at 7/2 and multiple world champion Michael Schumacher 3rd at 11/2. Last years world champion is 6th favourite at 12/1.
