The body conversion was carried out professionally in late 2007, and is an exact copy of Ferrari 365 GTS Daytona with the plexi-glass. The DVLA lists the vehicle as a "Ferrari 400i 2-seater Convertible".
The car has full and detailed service history including sheaf of bills from assorted marquee specialists. The 5L-v12 engine was professionally fully rebuilt in late 2008 (all documented).
She is in mint condition inside and out with 58k recorded miles, MOT ends November 2010. The exterior is jet black with biscuit/black leather classic bucket seats, classic dials, classic number plate, Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser, power steering, electric windows, multi-CD changer, sound amplifier, full Tubi stainless exhaust, new adjustable performance suspension; including dampers & coils, copy knock-on wheels, spare wheel, recent made-to-measure cashmere hood to match classic 365 GTS hood, Ferrari tool kit, fire extinguisher, and the underside is sealed agaist rust.
The car drives extremely smooth and the 5L-v12 is loud and sweet, so driving in tunnels will force a big smile! The 5-gear manual box is precise and smooth. It starts every time and at all time regardless. Oil pressure gauge displays perfect levels throughout. No threat of overheating with the large radiator and double fans. It is a driver's car, and I had the pleasure of driving it to Genève and Cannes on separate road trips and it never missed a beat nor needed any road side assistance.
This private sale is due to the imminent arrival of a certain Alfa Spider in April/May 2010.
Asking price £59,500 ONO, which is a fraction of the cost of a classic 365GTS. The conversion cost is more than the sale price but that's passion for you!!
(no time wasters pls).
