The race wasn't even a lap old when Marco Moraes made contact with Marco Andretti, sen��ding both cars into the wall going into the second turn. Neither driver was hurt, and Andretti was back on the track on lap 61. Ryan Hunter-Reay hit the wall in turn four on his 20th lap, Graham Rahal (RAY'-hawl) crashed on the 56th lap and Davey Hamilton wrecked on lap 83. Helio Castroneves (EH'-lee-oh kas-troh-NEH'-vehs) started from the pole. NASCAR-COCA-COLA 600 Newman has pole CONCORD, North Carolina (AP) NASCAR drivers are under the lights for the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Ryan Newman captured the pole for the eighth time at Lowe's, and he's trying to win a Cup race at the North Carolina track for the first time. Kyle Busch has the other spot on the front row, just ahead of Jeff Gordon. Newman, Busch and Gordon were involved in a three-wide wreck in the closing moments of the Sprint All-Star race at Lowe's last weekend. FORMULA ONE-MONACO GRAND PRIX Button wins again MONACO (AP) Jenson Button has won the Monaco Grand Prix to stretch out his Formula One championship lead to 16 points over Brawn GP teammate Rubens Barrichello (bahr-ih-KEHL'-oh). Button finished 7.6 seconds in front of Barrichello for his fifth win of the season, and the Briton's fourth wire-to-wire victory of the season. Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen (KEE'-mee RAY'-koh-nehn) earned Ferrari its first podium of the season by finishing third at the famed street circuit race. NBA-PLAYOFFFS Magic host Cavaliers ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) The Orlando Magic came oh-so-close to taking a two-games-to-none lead in the NBA's Eastern Conference finals Friday night in Cleveland. Instead, they've had one day to shake off their agonizing loss to the Cavaliers in Game 2 before hosting Cleveland tonight. The Cavs were able to split the first two games only after LeBron James drained a buzzer-beating three-pointer to lift Cleveland past Orlando 96-95 Friday night. Each game of the series has been decided by just one point. NHL-PLAYOFFS Blackhawks look to even series CHICAGO (AP) The Chicago Blackhawks will try to even in the NHL's Western Conference finals at two games apiece when they host the Detroit Red Wings today. The Hawks got back in the series by pulling out a 4-3 overtime win on Friday after blowing a 3-0 lead during a 4:23 span of the second period. Patrick Sharp provided the game-winner for the Blackhawks, who could be without the services of Martin Havlat today. Havlat left Friday's game after absorbing a hard check from Niklas Kronwall, who received a five-minute major and a game misconduct on the play. MLB-SCHEDULE Votto scratched by dizziness UNDATED (AP) Reds first baseman Joey Votto was scratched from the lineup today as he continues to battle dizziness. Votto hit home runs yesterday against Cleveland in the first two at-bats of his first start since May 16. The flu and dizziness caused by an inner ear infection had forced him to miss several games from May 7-22 and leave two others early. GOLF-SENIOR PGA CHAMPIONSHIP Mize stages a final-round charge BEACHWOOD, Ohio (AP) Michael Allen was clinging to a slim lead with three holes remaining at the Senior PGA Championship. Allen was 2-under for the day and 5-under for the tournament, one shot ahead of Larry Mize. GOLF-BYRON NELSON Sabbatini leads IRVING, Texas (AP) Rory Sabbatini was the leader early in the final round of the PGA's Byron Nelson Championship near Dallas.Sabbatini remained 13-under after playing his first three holes of the day at even par. Scott McCarron was on the back nine at 12-under, and John Mallinger and D.A. Points were at minus-12 with 14 holes to play. GOLF-LPGA'S CORNING CLASSIC Miyazato, Kang top leaderboard CORNING, N.Y. (AP) Soo-Yun Kang of South Korea was one shot ahead of Song-Hee Kim and Yani Tseng with 12 holes to play at the LPGA's Corning Classic. Kang was 19-under after playing her first six holes of the day at minus-2. TENNIS-FRENCH OPEN French Open begins PARIS (AP) Defending champion Ana Ivanovic (ee-VAH'-noh-vich) struggled in her first match at the French Open but has advanced to the second round with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Sara Errani of Italy. The eighth-seeded Serb converted only five of the 20 break points she earned against her opponent. Errani broke three times and even served for the first set at 5-4. Men's third seed Andy Murray breezed into the second round with a straight-sets win over Juan Ignacio Chela 6-2, 6-2 6-1. Seventh-seeded Gilles Simon, No. 8 Fernando Verdasco and No. 13 Marin Cilic (mah-RIHN' CHIH'-lihch) also advanced, as did No. 14 David Ferrer.
