Ask any kid in India what his dream car is and the most likely answer that you will get is Ferrari. The Italian carmaker is popular here despite their cars not being available here officially. Even the Ferrari F1 has a huge fan following in India. Car enthusiasts in India have wondered how come Ferrari cars were never officially introduced here.
Now the PTI is reporting that Tata and Fiat could get Ferrari cars as well as Maserati cars to India. Ratan Tata told Italian newspaper La Stampa, “We have various projects, to take the Nano to Latin America together, to share platforms for new cars, we have projects for Iveco and marketing Ferraris and Maseratis. We are talking about a lot of things.”
Besides being the Chairman of the Tata Group, Ratan Tata is an independent director at Fiat. The Italian company has tied up with Tata in India. It wouldn’t be hard for Tata to get high-end cars from Ferrari and Maserati as they have already launched British luxury brands Land Rover and Jaguar in India last month.
