Italian-based sports car maker Ferrari, has announced that the Handling GTE option for the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano is now also available as a Ferrari Genuine Accessories package for dealer fitment. The package is made available in two forms, one for 599 GTB Fiorano’s produced before 2008, and another for 599 GTB Fiorano produced after 2008 (from engine no.122779 onwards) and for cars that are not fitted with the manual transmission.
The former only includes handling, exhaust and aesthetic kits, while the latter adds a performance kit, apart the three kits carried over from the first package. The handling kit is made up by a lowered suspension (10 mm), new magnetorheologically controlled suspension calibration for the Manettino SPORT and RACE configurations, more rigid suspension springs (front + 17%, rear + 15%) along with more rigid rear anti-roll bars (diameter increased to 25mm), HGTE specific tyres with improved compound (8% more grip) and 3-piece modular rims with reduced weight (forged spokes) and special new design.
The exhaust kit features only new exhaust silencers with two-tone finish tailpipes. The aesthetic kit offers a newly designed front grille with a special chromatic treatment and a burnished finish to the Prancing Horse symbols on the front grill and rear boot lid. Lastly, the performance kit includes, again, the new exhausts silencers with two-tone finish tailpipes, enhanced F1 gearshift actuation with response times reduced to 85 millisecond as well as a new accelerator logic with modified mapping for improved throttle response. The first package costs £17,213, while you can prepare to part with £19,703 for the second package.
Ferrari also revealed the interior trim modifications which are included as part of the factory-fit HGTE package on a new car are not available as part of the above packages and that the mesh front grille on the car shown in the attached images is currently only available on new cars ordered with the HGTE package via the Carrozzeria Scaglietti Personalisation Programme.
