If you still feel that hybrid fever hasn’t caught up with the autosphere or that there will be only a few eco friendly cars driven on the road, think again. As the automakers continue to unveil their hybrid plans at the Geneva Motor Show, sister companies under the Fiat hood, Ferrari and Maserati too have stepped into a joint venture bringing in hybrid vehicles over the next few years.

Maserati has now decided to enter into the hybrid line of vehicles to reduce its fuel consumption and CO2 emission figures with Ferrari backing it up with full support with the experience it has accumulated with its research and design of experimental 599 GTB HY KERS hybrid concept. The three-pointed Trident brand will borrow similar emission and drivetrain logics from Ferrari and combine them with its already existing impressive performance to bring out the most efficient hybrid powertrain at affordable prices. Also, it has been reported that Maserati will work on the models to shed some extra pounds for greater fuel efficiency.
Maserati and Ferrari no longer share the same business vows after their split in 2006; however, they are still in association in terms of hardware.
